Spent the morning trying to read kevinrose.com and leoville.com but it looks like they were Slashdotted. Sad.
I did grab the torrent for the first SYSTM episode, and finally got around to grabbing the torrents for This Week In Tech. Now I just need to get the torrents for the Canadian version of Call For Help, and I can pretend that the G4-TechTV tragedy never happened.
Don't know what I'm talking about? Congratulations, you're not a complete tech nerd.

ReplyDeleteI haven't had a chance to watch SYSTM yet, how was it?
It was cute. Too short though, only 10 minutes. And they skip a lot of the steps, so you have to go to the website to get all the details. Basically, they made a sniffer to find unencrypted wireless camera feeds, and drove around until they found some. It was pretty cool. :-) The production was more professional than the This Week In Tech podcasts. It was like a real show, minus the commercials.

Except that a real show would be 22 minutes sans commercials.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. So, it's half a show. And yet, I still prefer 10 minutes of SYSTM over 30/60 minutes of anything left on G4TV.
ReplyDeleteI watched SYSTM yesterday. It was a fun little show and I liked their graphics, but you're right, a lot of seemingly important steps are missing.
ReplyDeleteI do like the simplicity of the box (I want one so bad. I already have like half the stuff I would need just laying around) and their show graphics were pretty sweet.
